C17 timber-framed and plastered house on an L shaped plan with a gable at the south-east end of the north-east front. Partly 2 storeys and partly one storey and attics. Mainly casement windows (C20). Roof tiled, with one gabled dormer on the south-east front and a central chimney stack.
Although the detailed connection is not known, the name Ruses (like the Roos Farm in Wimbish) is related to the de Roos family, which held large estates in East Anglia from the 13th century.
The house and lands of Ruses Farm formed part of the estate that was gifted to the Church Army in 1905 and subsequently sold in 1951.
