C17 timber-framed and plastered building. Altered and added to in the C20. The main block is one storey and attics and the wing to the south-east is two storeys. The windows are all C20. Roof tiled, with 2 gabled dormers to the main block and a central chimney stack.

Cracknells was for many years the home of Alan and Hazel Weedon, who did so much to document Hempstead’s history.
