C16 timber-framed and plastered house on an L shaped plan. Considerably restored and renovated in the C20 when a wing was added at the south-east end. Two storeys and attics. Modern casement windows with lattice leaded lights. Roof tiled, with a rebuilt stack with 2 diagonally set shafts. During the 1930s and 1940s the house was, for a time, the home of the author Hector Bolitho, who planted a lot of trees in the garden and left his initials in the decorative plasterwork on the front of the house.
